Benjamin and Martha's son, John Ragsdale, was born June 23, 1728 in Bristol Parish, Prince George County, Virginia. He married Frances Hudson in 1759 in Cumberland Parish, in Lunenburg County, Virginia. Frances was born January 28 1732, also in Bristol Parish.
She was the daughter of James Hudson.

John fought with the English as a private in the Virginia Colonial Militia from 1754 to 1758, during the French and Indian War. In the Revolutionary War, John fought against England. He was a member of Captain John Cargill's Minute Men in the Lunenburg County Militia.

John died in 1794 and Frances died in 1806. Both died in Mecklenburg County, Virginia.
